about

Over the almost ten (what the fuck?) years I've been producing, I have always taken inspiration from the songs I'm listening to at the time. When I was younger, EDM was the cornerstone of my music taste—I'd listen to Monstercat's releases religiously, and once I got into osu!, my EDM taste expanded infinitely. From there, it was being introduced to the underground Soundcloud EDM scene (and groups like artbyFORM) that shaped my sound. I haven't shown you guys much of these inspirations, though—songs I made throughout all these eras have largely gone unreleased, simply because for the longest time, I just refused to release singles. I could have released some of these more than three years ago, but I refused to, saying that "I'll just release it when I finish the album / EP"—and I never finished it, and songs I put a lot of effort into were left to die on my hard drive.

When I was a freshman in high school, in the fall of 2018 and the winter of 2019, I released an album called "RUIN*MY*LIFE" that I worked on that summer. I don't know why I called it that, but it certainly will ruin the life of whoever listens to it; that shit was ass. Immediately after that project's release, I wanted to work on a project that'd take all my four years of high school to finish: a 50 track album called "2022", since I'd be graduating high school that year. It is 2022, and I'm a high school graduate going into college, and I don't have 50 songs, but I've got these for you. I hope you have fun listening to them!

Thank youuu:
- Carolyn & Ava, for beating the dead horse that is the Twizzlestorm catalog on Spotify. This compilation is for you guys! NOW PLEASE STOP LISTENING TO THE OLD SHIT
- My dad, for holding my hand on the street in this picture, and for your love and appreciation of so much music (even the shit I make you listen to)
- Everyone who’s ever listened to any song I’ve ever made

Oh, and if it weren't for listening to a bunch of 2014-16 Camellia songs at work a couple months ago I wouldn't have been inspired to re-release my old EDM stuff. So a special thanks to you, Camellia—without you this wouldn't exist!
