about

I have been working on this album since November of 2020. Much has changed since then; I feel like a broken record repeating that phrase, but it is true now more than it ever has been before. My life during the creation of the first half of the album was very different than that of the last half; for better and for worse, things gained and lost, new faces seen and others forgotten. The cycle continues.

I would be lying if I said I did not feel an obligation to create this album. After all, the first release under this moniker was "Volume 1" of the series; I would have felt stupid if I never followed it up. The trend in lo-fi hip hop to title your projects with "Volume X" is a dumb one, and one I succumbed to nonetheless. But, despite that, this album holds some of my favorite creations to date under the twzzl moniker, so I could not possibly throw it to the wayside, to the shredder as so many others have gone before at nobody's fault but my own. So this album now exists before you, a collection of memories, pillars in time.

This album serves as a reminder for me that there are always ways to revisit your past in a way that does not harm you. Talk to a friend you have not spoken to in a while, revisit old documents on your computer, go through your room and see trinkets that you thought you had previously forgotten. We can always take solace in the past; but it is also important to not let the past hinder your progress towards the future. Spilled milk that has been dried need not be harped upon any further -- it is okay to forget.

Enjoy. I love you.
